If you have ESO Plus, you'll have access to the Craft Bag, which is an additional inventory section that doesn't count against your inventory limit. This holds an effectively unlimited number of all basic crafting supplies and materials! Everything you need to expand the size of the inventory is to find Bag Merchant in one of the big cities. Bag Merchants can be usually found on the Marketplace and they will add extra space for gold: The first update will add 10 extra slots increasing inventory space from original 50 up to 60 at the cost of 400 gold. Bag space upgrades can instead be purchased with Crowns in the Crown Store. This does not affect the cost per upgrade at a Pack Merchant; increasing to 100 slots will cost 11,000 gold regardless of whether the preceding three upgrades were bought at a Pack Merchant or in the Crown Store.
Having a mount in the Elder Scrolls Online is great as it allows you to travel much faster than by going on foot.
But how do you use it? Are there different types of mounts and how do you make it go faster?
These are all commonly asked questions and I will answer all of them in this article.
Getting your first mount
First you need to make sure you actually have a mount. To check this, go to your collections tab in the menu (hotkey: U on PC) and click “mounts”, here you will see all the mounts that you own. If you don’t see any mounts here, it means you don’t have one.
To get your first mount the easiest way is to go to the stables, these are located in every major city and can be found on the map by locating the horse symbol.
You can buy a mount from the stable master located in the stables.
Using your mount

First you need to set your active mount. Navigate to your collections tab in the menu (press U on PC). Click on the “Mounts” tab. Select the mount you wish to use by double clicking on it. Doing this will equip that mount.
Now that you’ve equipped your mount you can close down all the menus as we are ready to jump up on our horse.
PC: Press H to mount. If this does not work, press ESC, got to “keybindings” find “mount” and check which key is assigned, or reassign it to your desired hotkey.
XBOX: Press and hold down VIEW to mount.
PS4: Press and hold down the touchpad to mount.
Speeding up your mount
You may notice that your mount is quite slow. This is because you have not yet upgraded its speed. To do this, head over to a stable in any major city marked with a horse symbol on the map.

Also, you can hold down your SPRINT button to sprint with your mount, this will make it go a bit faster.
Talk to the stable master and you will get three options.
- Speed: Increases the speed of your mount. I suggest you upgrade this first.
- Carry Capacity: Each time you upgrade you will increase your carrying capacity by one slot.
- Stamina: Increases your horse’s stamina. Once your horse’s stamina is drained and you take a hit from an enemy you will be dismounted and stunned for 5 seconds. This is only really an issue in PVP as being dismounted will get you killed. I would recommend to upgrade this last.
Each stat can be upgraded to a maximum number of 60.
You will only be allowed upgrade once every 20 hours. Once you upgrade, you need to wait 20 hours to upgrade again.
To check how long you have until your next available mount upgrade, go to your character tab by pressing C. Scroll down to “Riding Skill”, hover on the hour glass to the right and it will tell you when you can train your mount again.
NOTE: Upgrading any of these stats will apply to ALL mounts you have, and any future mounts you acquire. It is NOT exclusive to the mount you have equipped.
It is however exclusive to the character you are currently playing on. Each of your characters will need to upgrade the mount stats individually.
Do different mounts have different stats?
No they don’t.
Mounts in the Elder Scrolls Online are identical in terms of stats, the difference between mounts is purely cosmetic.
All mounts you acquire share the same upgrades that you have purchased from the stable master.
Collecting more mounts
So how do you boost your epic mount collection?
Increase Bag Size Eso
Well, beyond the horses the stablemaster can sell you, your options are quite slim I’m afraid.
Don’t get me wrong, there are tons of different mounts in ESO but most of them are locked behind a paywall ?
Most mounts are purchased through the Crown Store either with crown gems or by finding them in loot crates that you buy for crowns.
Some in game events offer mount rewards, check out the official ESO website to stay up to date with the latest ongoing events.
Pre ordering upcoming expansions will often reward you with with a unique mount as well.
Fishing in ESO isn’t just for relaxation and socializing with your buddies… you can get perfect roe and other valuable crafting materials. Unlike fishing for trophy fish and achievements, fishing for crafting mats means you’ll be looking for white fish. Here’s a look at what you’ll get:
Fish for Provisioning
Eso Bag Upgrade
By far, the most common item you’ll receive while fishing is…well…fish. Fish is a provisioning ingredient used in over 20 recipes, including purple recipes such as Potentate’s Supreme Cioppine which increases health by 3150 and magicka and stamina by 2880.
To receive the provisioning “fish” ingredient, you’ll need to filet the white (common) fish you catch. You can then trade or sell your fish to other players or in guild stores. Filleting a fish is easy – just open your inventory and double-click on the fish or right-click and choose “use”. Your character will pull out a large knife and begin scaling the fish. The filleted fish will be placed into your inventory automatically. (I recommend using Votan’s Fish Filet add-on, which you can learn more about here).
Perfect Roe for Provisioning
This rare ingredient was added to the game in June, 2015. Perfect Roe is used in a recipe called Psijic Ambrosia. This is a rare gold recipe that is split into many fragments — and those fragments can only be obtained by completing provisioning writs. The higher your provisioning level, the better chances you have to receive a recipe fragment as a reward for completing writs.
Perfect Roe can only be obtained by filleting white (common) fish that you catch. The type of white fish does not matter — you can filet fish from lakes, rivers, oceans and foul water. The chance/ drop rate of getting a Perfect Roe appears to be about 1 in 100 fish filleted, but there is certainly an element of luck involved.

You’ll know you have obtained a Perfect Roe if your character is bathed in sparkly light while filleting the fish that held the roe. The Roe is automatically placed in your inventory or crafting bag.
Wet Gunny Sacks
How To Increase Inventory In Eso
Fish aren’t the only thing you’ll find when you reel in your cast. You have a slight chance to pull up a Wet Gunny Sack from all of the water types. The sacks go into your inventory, where you can then “use” them and open up your mini-treasure bag. You’ll find materials such as tannins, trait gems, motif mats and runes. Most of the time, you’ll get something common (like a single Ta, for example) but sometimes you’ll get a stack of Denata or Embroidery. It’s all just luck of the draw.
